Let’s make something great together.

We’re a culinary creative studio. We shoot, write and design stories for publications, producers and brands. Here’s what we make, how a project goes and how to start.

How we work with our partners

  1. Step 1: A plan you can say yes toWe start with your goals and your audience, then send a scope, timeline and budget. No surprises.
  2. Step 2: The story only you can tellWe dig into what makes your food, place or people different and find the angle readers will remember.
  3. Step 3: Details that ring trueWe come to you to taste, interview and shoot on site. Every photo and line is grounded in the real thing.
  4. Step 4: A say at every stepYou see photos, words and layouts as they take shape, with room for your notes before anything is final.
  5. Step 5: Files you can run withYou get finished, ready-to-publish files. From there we can coordinate a print run, build the website or hand everything over raw so your team can do what they like.

Let’s get cooking.

Tell us a little about what you’re cooking up. No brief needed. A few sentences is plenty.

Colin Hanner and Laura Scherbthat’s us!

What are you thinking?

Before you ask...

What kinds of projects do you take on?

Three kinds. Publishing: books and zines we make ourselves. Editorial: reported stories, recipes and photos for magazines and outlets. Brand: cookbooks, stories and photography for producers, restaurants and brands.

Who do you work with?

Publications, food and drink producers, restaurants and brands. Recent partners include Poggio La Noce, Edible Chicago, Different Leaf and Sourced Journeys.

How does a project start?

Send a note through the form above. We’ll talk through your goals and audience, then send a clear scope, timeline and budget before any work begins.

What does it cost?

It depends on the project. Every one gets its own scope and budget up front, and we won’t start until you’ve said yes to it.

Do you travel?

Yes, gladly. Most of our work happens on site: tasting, interviewing and shooting where the food is made.

What do we get at the end?

Finished, ready-to-publish files, and a choice. We can coordinate the print run, build the website or hand over the raw files for your team to take from there.
